Amy Funabashi is one of our TMS Technicians at Psychiatry Northwest. She was born and raised in sunny, Southern California. Amy moved to Seattle when she transferred to Seattle Pacific University. She recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. During her time there her focus centered around abnormal, cross-cultural, and social psychology.
Her interest in researching psychological disorders led her to learning about different types of treatment, one of those being TMS. She was excited to learn about the non-invasive aspect of treatment resulting in significant improvements in people with depression. Now she is grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of the treatment process. She enjoys being able to support patients, creating a safe, inclusive environment, and is interested in seeing developments in the treatment process and technology over time.
In the future, Amy plans to attend graduate school to continue working in the mental health field. In the meantime, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading in her hammock, and finding the best places to eat in Seattle.
