Jesse P. McClelland, M.D. M.P.H, Medical Director of Psychiatry Northwest™, is a Board Certified Psychiatrist dedicated to providing innovative, insightful care to his clients. His private practice offers outpatient treatment for adults and is located conveniently at Northgate of Seattle. He provides comprehensive and individualized care for his patients, which may include therapy, medication management or both. He is trained in all areas of adult psychiatry including but not limited to ADHD/ADD, anxiety, depression, substance abuse disorders, psychosis, bipolar disorder, OCD, schizophrenia, and borderline personality disorder.

Dr. McClelland is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Washington State Psychiatric Association. He believes in proactive treatment seeking to introduce innovative psychiatric care, FDA approved technologies, cutting edge medication management, and holistic care. He is always searching for better, smarter, and more effective treatment and care solutions for his patients. Dr. McClelland attended Montana State University to complete his undergraduate degree in Chemistry. He won the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship, awarded each year to the top science students in the country. He attended medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where he earned dual graduate degrees in medicine (M.D.) and a master’s in public health (MPH) with an emphasis in health systems management. He began his psychiatric residency at Tulane but after Hurricane Katrina decimated the hospital system in New Orleans, he completed his residency training at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, one of the top psychiatric residency programs in the U.S.

Following graduation from his residency in 2009, Dr. McClelland consulted for the state of Washington conducting psychiatric evaluations for disability. During this period, he conducted thousands of psychiatric evaluations and gained expertise in rapidly diagnosing difficult cases. He then spent three years as a forensic psychiatrist at Western State Hospital. During his time there, he managed his own treatment teams and held important leadership positions, serving as chairman of the medical records committee and sitting on three other committees.

Dr. McClelland is a 4th generation Montanan, an avid skier, and a diehard 12. Go Hawks! He grew up in England attending the American School in London and had the good fortune to travel to many countries and learn about different cultures. He is a dedicated father of two sons and two dogs.
